Melvin Nelson Harrell departed this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at the age of 63 years and 17 days. He was born in Suffolk, Virginia on July 11, 1957, the son of the late Melvin Marion Harrell and Anniebelle Conwell Anderson. On June 2, 1980, he was united in marriage to Loretta Lunsford, who survives.
Melvin served in the US Marine Corp and had been employed with Waste Industries in North Carolina before he retired.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Loretta Harrell of Savannah, Tennessee; a daughter, April Holder of Cookeville, Tennessee; sons, Matthew Harrell of Pleasant Hill, North Carolina and William Harrell of Weldon, North Carolina; grandchildren, Katelyn Holder, Savannah Harrell, Alyssa Holder, and Lilyanna Holder; sisters, Judy Brown and Peggy Montgomery and her husband Ricky; and a brother, Russell Harrell.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Pegram and a brother, Robert Harrell.
Melvin served in the US Marine Corp and had been employed with Waste Industries in North Carolina before he retired.
