Pinson, TN: Melvin Wayne Harris age 59 passed away June 11, 2017 at Baptist East Memphis.
He was born November 4, 1957 in Union City, and grew up in Millington, the son of Elsie Kirk McCann and the late Melvin Brice Harris. He went to school in Millington and graduated Millington High School in 1974. He worked as an automotive car painter in Millington. He was married to Rita Parker in 2006 of Pinson. They made their home in Pinson. He loved fishing and NASCAR. He was Baptist in belief.
Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Rita Gail Parker Harris of Pinson; his mother, Elsie Kirk McCann of Hornlake, MS; a son, Damian Lindsey and wife Erica of Covington; a daughter, Jennifer Elaine Davis of Hamilton, NJ; four grandchildren, Esme Lindsey, Torin Lindsey, Zachary Davis and Dalton Davis; two sisters, Debra Sue Logging and husband Bobby of West Memphis, AR and Donna Jean Paschell of Hornlake, MS.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday June 14, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Ken Kitchen officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 12:00 Noon Wednesday until service time at 3:00 PM Wednesday.
