He was born and reared in Chester County, the son of the late Robert Ervin and Hassie Hill Smith. He was married to Agnes Tenry and they made their home in Chester County. He was a Automobile Technician for the Chevrolet Dealership for over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Agnes Tenry Smith and a son Robert Smith of Henderson and a daughter Marilyn Mooney of Reagan; 2 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and also 2 sisters Mildred Dunn of Pinson and Avis Smith of Henderson.
