In Loving Memory of Michael Deming

March 9, 1937 – October 10, 2026

Michael Deming, 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Germantown, Tennessee on October 10, 2026. Born on March 9, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee, Michael lived a full and meaningful life marked by intellectual curiosity, steadfast friendships, deep faith and an enduring love for his family.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful professional career as a pharmaceutical sales representative, eventually retiring from William H. Rorer after many years of dedicated service.

A man of remarkable intellect and diverse interests, Michael possessed an inquisitive mind and a lifelong passion for learning. As a member of Mensa, he valued knowledge and intellectual pursuits. An avid reader and devoted collector of first-edition books, he found great enjoyment in literature and the stories held within its pages. His interests extended well beyond books to include bicycling, football, music and collecting firearms. He also appreciated life's simpler pleasures, including relaxing with one of his favorite television shows, The Big Bang Theory.

Michael valued loyalty and friendship and those fortunate enough to know him knew him as a true and devoted friend. His Catholic faith was an important part of his life and he was a faithful communicant and usher at St. Louis Catholic Church, where he served his parish community.

Above all else, Michael cherished his family. His daughters and grandchildren held a special place in his heart and the love he had for them was among the greatest joys of his life.

Michael is survived by his loving daughters, Michelle Gibson of Southaven, Mississippi and Allison Saenz of La Quinta, California; his former wife, Linda Deming; and his beloved grandchildren, Heather Gibson, Kameron Michael Blum and Kyra Blum. Each will carry forward treasured memories of his love, wisdom, humor and the unique spirit that made him who he was.

He was preceded in death by his father, Currie Erskine Deming; his mother, Vivian Miller Deming; and his son, Currie Simon Deming.
