Obituary

Christopher “Micheal” Goodrum, age 41, of Selmer, Tennessee, passed away on August 16, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and a family who will forever carry him in their hearts. Born on November 29, 1984, in Jackson, Tennessee, he was the beloved son of Christen Wade Goodrum and Vicky Duncan Goodrum.

From the very beginning, Micheal was full of life. A happy baby who was walking by nine months old, he was always on the go, exceptionally bright, and filled with natural curiosity. As a child, he loved going on trips, staying in hotels, eating out, playing with his Ninja Turtles, and making special memories playing guitar with his daddy. Never afraid of hard work, Micheal was out in the woods logging even as a teenager, driven by a deep desire to always ensure his family was taken care of to the very best of his ability.

Micheal carried that strong work ethic into his adult career. Highly intelligent and a natural leader, he consistently earned supervisor and leadership roles, working with dedication for Kimberly-Clark/LaCosta.

Faith was an essential pillar of Micheal’s life. He was saved and baptized alongside his mother, Vicky, in the Tennessee River while attending Piney Grove Church of God. He played bass guitar at church, regularly read and listened to audio scripture, and often spent hours discussing the Bible with his brother, Houston, with whom he helped start the Living Word of Faith Church. His heart for service extended into the community, where he volunteered every other Saturday serving meals to those in need.

Micheal had an unforgettable personality—laid-back, playful, and quick-witted. He loved attending NASCAR races with family, making people laugh, keeping everyone on their toes, or just teasing those he loved simply because he could.

Micheal’s greatest joy in life was his family, especially his two sons, Hayden and Hunter, who were his absolute world and greatest legacy. He also shared six meaningful years with his partner, Alece Floyd, who stood beside him and shared in countless cherished moments, love, and companionship.

Micheal was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charlie Monroe Duncan, Clarence O’Neal Goodrum, and Darrel Potter.

His memory lives on through his cherished sons, Hayden Christopher Goodrum and Jackson “Hunter” Goodrum; his devoted partner of six years, Alece Floyd; his mother, Vicky Goodrum; his father, Chris Goodrum; his brother, Houston Craig Goodrum and sister-in-law, Jessica; his grandmothers, Elizabeth Duncan and Ellon Potter; his nieces and nephews, Duncan, Forrest, Jeslynn, and Rowan Goodrum; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

At only 41 years old, Micheal leaves behind a life far too short, but one deeply filled with faith, devotion, and love. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

"Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered. Forever their dad."
