Mike Horton

Mike Horton was born on October 7, 1952 in Russellville, Alabama, the son of the late Leonard Verdell and Hazel Baggett Horton.

Mr. Horton honorably served his country in the United States Army. He later worked for Kimberly Clark as a maintenance planner. Mike was an avid hunter and loved being outdoors. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren.

Mike Horton departed this life on March 6, 2026 in Jackson, Tennessee, at the age of 73 years, 4 months, and 27 days.

He is survived by his beloved Shirley; sons, Joseph Michael Horton (Tanya) and Joshua Lee Horton (Ashley); daughter, Samantha Caroline Horton; brothers, Phil Horton and James Horton; sister, Debbie Hudson; grandchildren, Jamie, Ashton, Kaysie, Kennee, Charlee, and Allie; and the mother of his oldest son Joseph, Judy O. Miller.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by the mother of Joshua and Samantha, Brenda Savelle.
