Obituary

Michael Louis “Mike” Romines, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on May 10, 2026, on Mother’s Day, at the age of 68.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Era Lee Hale Romines and Louis Romines, and by his sister, Barbara Romines.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 39 years, Sherry Romines of Madison, Tennessee, whom he married on May 23, 1987; by his son, Dustin Romines and wife Lacie, also of Madison, Tennessee; and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Faye Jaggers.

Mike worked as a lab technician and also spent many years working alongside his father installing replacement windows. He was truly a jack of all trades and a man who could fix just about anything. Whether it was electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, vinyl siding, replacement windows, or rebuilding a car from the ground up, there was very little he couldn’t do. Mike loved “tinkering,” especially on old cars, and enjoyed attending car shows whenever he could. One of his greatest passions was his 1971 Z28, which he reluctantly had to sell after becoming too ill to continue working on it.

Beyond his many talents, Mike enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, and cooking for those he loved. Every year, he and his father-in-law Larry shared a friendly competition to see who could grow the first ripe tomato of the season.

Mike will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his willingness to help others, his sharp skills, and the love he had for his family and friends. The lessons he taught, the things he built, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He was baptized on May 8.

Mike’s legacy is one of strength, craftsmanship, kindness, and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
