Michael Ruiz

Visitation for Mr. Ruiz will be Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Bolivar. A private funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bolivar.
Mr. Ruiz, a senior at Bolivar Central High School, passed from this life on Tuesday night, March 20, 2018.
He was born in Rioverde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, but lived most of his life in Hardeman County. He is the son of Jose de Jesus Ruiz of Cancun, Mexico and Adriana Maria Chavira of Charlotte, NC.
Michael worked several years for his aunt, Maria Howell at El Ranchito Restaurant in Bolivar. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bolivar where he received his first communion and confirmation.
Most passionate about his family, he was there for them with whatever they needed and saw himself as a protector and provider for his female cousins. In his leisure time, Michael enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, being outside and his Aunt Maria's cooking.
In addition to his father, mother and aunt, he is survived by his brother, Jesus Rogelio Ruiz; his grandmother, Vicenta Chavira; aunts, Maria Howell, Jazmin Martinez, Blandina Otero and Norma Guadalupe Chavira; uncles, Juan M. Chavira, Luis Chavira and Jose Rodriquez Chavira; and cousins, Eunice, Hector, Iliana, Genesis, Diego, Luis Daniel and Mariana Chavira, Christian, Ashley and Audrey Howell.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ambrosio Ruiz.
