Michael Burdette Smith

Michael Burdette Smith was born June 21, 1940 in Hastings, MI, the son of the late James Burdette and Phyllis Tyler Smith. He departed this life on June 8, 2018 in Humboldt, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 11 Months, 18 Days.

Mr. Smith was known as Stone Man Smith to many. He was a stone mason and logger, and worked with horses and mules. He bought and sold antiques and collectibles and spent much of his time at Crump Flea Market. He also rode in a horse drawn covered wagon across the country preaching the gospel.

He is survived by wife, Penny Colt; children: James Smith of Bethel Springs, TN and his children Bonnie Rae Smith and Augustus Michael Smith, Jessie Rogers and husband Sam, Michelle Pare and her family, Sean Benner and his family, Jeremiah Smith and his family all of MI; many other family members and freinds.

Graveside service will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Smith Family Cemetery, 1273 Vista Lane in Bethel Springs, TN. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer, TN (731)645-3481.
