Mr. Vaughan retired as Chief of Police for the City of Crump, Tennessee, his native home, where he had served for over 16 years, and notably was the first Chief of Police in the city's history. He departed this life on February 6, 2015 at the Hardin Medical Center, at the age of 65 years, 4 months, and 19 days. In addition to his wife of nearly 46 years, Myra, he is survived by one son, of whom he was extremely proud, Michael Cary Vaughan and his wife Tanya of Crump, Tennessee. One sister, Anita Duncan of Hixon, Tennessee, and one brother, Keith Vaughan of Savannah, Tennessee. He was a devoted, loving, and proud grandfather to his three grandchildren Chelsea Jeanette, Michael Cody, and Riley Hunter Vaughan. He always supported and believed in them, encouraging them to be whatever they wanted to be in life, and loved them unconditionally.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents Guy and Lou Tyler, and Truman and Mary Vaughan.
