Mildred Franks

Mildred Johnson Franks of Cypress Inn, TN was born May 4, 1927 in Cypress Inn, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Thomas Warren and Goldie Mae Darby Johnson. Ms Franks was a retired supervisor from H.D. Lee Company in Florence, AL, retired supervisor from Collinwood Manufacturing, had worked at Riverbend Mental Health Center in Florence, AL, and was a foster grandparent at Collinwood Elementary School. She was a member of the Balentine Church in Lutts, Tennessee.



Ms Franks departed this life on Friday,September 10, 2010 at her home in Cypress Inn, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 4 Months, 6 Days after a brief illness.



She is survived by three sons, Sammy Franks and wife, Judy of Cypress Inn, TN, Michael Franks and wife, Susan of Muscle Shoals, AL, Joe Franks and wife, Sherry of Cypress Inn, TN; two daughters, Margaret Ann Haygood and husband, William and Susan Franks all of Cypress Inn, TN; twelve grandchildren, Chris Franks, Shannon Franks, Tyler Franks, Blake Franks, Samantha Franks, Kalie Bearden, Emily Stafford, Keeley Liles, Dega Gross, Shayna Swann, Keith Black, Leigh Anne Franks; 18 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Stoddard and Billie Jean Willis both of Florence, AL; nieces and nephews.



In addition to her parents, Ms Franks was preceded in death by a sister, Maureen Fitzgerald and former husband, Samuel Odell Franks, Sr.



Services will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Roger Villines and Sammy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Lutts, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Chris, Shannon, Tyler, and Blake Franks, Keith Black, Guy Stafford, and Steven Bearden.



Visitation will be Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the funeral home.
