Mildred Love passed away on August 20, 2017 at the age of 91 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN surrounded by family.
She was a native of Hardin County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Love; parents, Grady and Erma Camilla Shelby; sisters, Betty Blackwelder Brown and Lois Blackwelder; brothers, J.C. Shelby and Guy Shelby and son-in-law Hayes D. Hargis.
She is survived by her children, Neda Chester Hargis of Savannah, TN, Dr. M.D. "Buzz" Alexander of Franklin, TN; stepdaughters Laura Love Jones of Albuquerque, NM, Janice Love and Brenda Love of Amarillo, TX; sisters Erma Jean Clement of Moline, IL and Margaret Rickman of Adamsville, TN; grandchildren Camille Chester of Murfreesboro, TN, Stephanie Bogue and husband Jason of Franklin, TN, Reed Alexander and Ben Alexander of Franklin, TN and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Mildred worked at Farmers Home Administration for many years. She gave her life to the Lord early in life and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church and Northside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed gardening,cooking, spending time outdoors, and visiting with her friends and family. She was a role model to countless people for her wisdom, humility, and grace. She was small in stature but large in heart, a true angel who touched and blessed many others in her life. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
