Mildred Bell Ward Miller

Services for Mrs. Mildred Bell Ward Miller will be held Wednesday, February 5th at 11 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer, Tennessee. Burial will follow in Clear Creak Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller, 94, of Meridian, MS, formerly of Memphis and Selmer, TN, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at her son and daughter-in-law’s home.

Mrs. Miller was a long-time Eastern Star member of Oakville Masonic Lodge (Memphis), a former choir member of Oakhaven Baptist Church (Memphis), and a Gold Star wife. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Meridian, MS.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Judith Miller; grandson, Rich Miller and wife, Tiffany; granddaughter, Elizabeth Miller Warren and husband, James; six great-grandchildren; brother, Arnold Ward; nieces, Jean King, Theresa Robinson, Jan Walsh and Deborah Wise; nephews, Jerry, Billy, and Paul Ward; special friends, Edith Harper, Helen Force, Evelyn Kelly, Dottie Dickey, Gene McCown, and Nancy McCown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. R. Miller; parents, Carl and Arita Ward; brothers, Sterling, Nelson, Sammie, and Carlos Ward.

Pallbearers will be Rich Miller, James Warren, Jerry Ward, Bill King, Kirby Latham, and Ronnie Bramley. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jack Grisham, Staten Grisham, Dr. Ron Mitchell, Paul Robinson, Billy Ward, and Jonathan Ward.
