Mildred Burkeen Pyron

Mildred Burkeen Pyron departed from this life and went to her heavenly home on July 19, 2024. She was born December 31, 1933 to the late John Calvin and Honor Mae Melton Hill. In May of 1948 she was united in marriage to Vannie Burkeen who preceded her in death on April 14, 1986 after 38 years of marriage. 

She was a devout Christian and was a member of Fourth Street church of Christ in Selmer. It was her strong Christian faith in God that would carry and guide her through the tragic loss of their only child, Martha Jane, and the raising of her two grandchildren, Stacey and David.

She was an excellent homemaker, cook, seamstress, and gardener. She loved her flowers and had the prettiest around. She also loved to watch the Memphis Grizzlies play basketball. Her most cherished thing in life was her family. 

She is survived by her granddaughter, Stacey Tyler and husband Todd of Savannah, TN; grandson, David Brewer and wife Marsha of Stantonville, TN; a great-granddaughter, Hayley Beth Brewer of Stantonville, TN; a son-in-law, Randall Brewer and wife Vickie of Adamsville, TN; two sisters, Callie Lipford and Birdie Black, both of Adamsville, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews she loved dearly, and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband Vannie, Mildred was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Jane Brewer; three brothers: Carl Hill, Earl Hill, and infant brother John Henry Hill; two sisters, Maggie Floyd and Allie Wagoner; and two husbands she married later in life, James Pyron and Wendell Smith.
