Mildred A. Smith was born April 7, 1928 in Bethel Springs, TN the daughter of the late William Andrew and Elsie Barnes McCann.
She was united in marriage to Elbert Lee Smith on November 30, 1946. Mr. Smith preceded her in death on March 17, 2004.
Mrs. Smith lived in the McNairy Community for 76 years. She was an excellent cook, her specialty were butter rolls. She loved preparing Sunday dinners and having her entire family there. She was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, canning, and listening to music. She was a member of the Lanes Chapel Church in Finger, Tennessee.
Mrs. Smith departed this life on October 15, 2017 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 6 Months, 8 Days. She is survived by
five daughters, Wanda Mitchell and husband Donald of Bethel Springs, TN, Brenda Phillips of Bethel Springs, TN, Sylvia Ingle and husband Michael of Ramer, TN, Pamela Forsythe of Selmer, TN, and Bonita Vandiver of Michie, TN; fourteen grandchildren, Darrel Mitchell, Damon Mitchell, Kim Reeder and husband Jason, Wendy Hicks and husband Rusty, James Mitchell and wife Jessica, Amy Hodge and husband Jamie, Amber English and husband Chad, Melanie Ingle, Jennifer Mitchell and husband Jason, Ginger Honse and husband Joe, Jarrod Vandiver, Laurie Manzaneres and husband David, Ryan Vandiver, Micah Vandiver; and 24 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Harold Phillips, Jimmy Forsythe; a great-granddaughter, Alexandra Reeder; three sisters, Verl Kirk, Eula McVay, Willie Gray; three brothers, Marion McCann, Earl McCann, Willard McCann.
