Millard Paul Austin

September 21, 1931 — January 28, 2017

Millard Paul Austin, age 85 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017. A native of Savannah, TN, he was the son of the late Millard Austin and Zora Austin Jones. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wintford Austin.
Mr. Austin is survived by his wife, Helen Martin Austin; daughters, Paula Sykes of Indianola, MS, Melissa Nesbitt of Thompson’s Station, TN, and Susan Higgins of Brentwood, TN; son, Millard Thacker of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Emsley W. Jones of Calico Rock, AR; sister, Aline Warren of West Memphis, AR, and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, TN, and a second visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Savannah, TN.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Holland Creek Methodist Church Cemetery in Savannah, TN, with Emsley W. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Holland Creek Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Austin was a retired US Army and Air Force veteran, and a retired farmer.
