Minnie Lorene "Rene" Henry

Minnie Lorene Henry, age 92, of Henderson formerly of McNairy, TN peacefully departed this life on July 21, 2023 at Henderson Health and Rehab in Henderson, TN.

Born on October 12, 1930 in McNairy County, TN, Lorene was the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Lara Lutrell Smith. On March of 1946, at the tender age of 15, she married Charles Elton Henry. They shared a beautiful journey together until Mr. Henry's passing in 1984. Throughout their marriage, they were blessed with seven children.

Lorene was lovingly referred to as Rene by those who knew her well. While primarily dedicating her time to being a caring stay-at-home mother, she also worked at the school cafeteria in McNairy until its closure. Her warm heart and kind nature endeared her to everyone she encountered. 

In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Lorene found spiritual fulfillment as a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in McNairy, TN.

Lorene is survived by two of her children: Audrey Terry (Don) of Toone, TN and Danny Henry of Streator, IL; seven grandchildren: Laurie, Lisa, Tammy, Gregory, Donyal, Shane, Deana; nine great-grandchildren spanning five generations; her brother, Kenneth Smith of McNairy, TN; sister, Bessie Williams of Adamsville, TN; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Alongside her husband and parents, Lorene was preceded in death by two infants; three sons: Alvin, Dean, and Wayne Henry; five brothers, and four sisters including one brother and one sister who passed away shortly after birth; and a grandson, Dean Jr.

Rene was cherished by all who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
