Minnie D'Lois Johnson

June 23, 1926 — December 8, 2013

Minnie D'Lois Prather Johnson was born June 23, 1926 in Selmer, TN the daughter of the late James Claude and Hattie McCormack Prather.

Minnie passed away suddenly on December 8, 2013. A resident of Memphis, Tennessee for over 45 years, she is best remembered for her passion for flowers. Wherever she lived, she always created the most beautiful flower beds. In her later years, as a resident of Wesley Highland Towers she was known affectionately as "The Flower Lady.' After the death of her husband, S. Reid Johnson she returned to her childhood home of Selmer, TN and continued her passion there, toiling in the soil whenever there was daylight. While in Memphis, she was an active member of Buntyn Presbyterian Church, serving many family night dinners and was even in charge of the flowers.

She is survived by a son, John Johnson of Southaven, MS; a sister, Martha Ruth (Prather) Edwards and husband Bobby Roberts of Selmer, TN; two special nephews, Franklin Prather and wife Pat, and Ray Prather; host of nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by two sisters, Pattie (Prather) Everitt, Blanche (Prather) Griffin; six brothers, Raymond, R.T., Clyde, Ellis, Walter, and Joe Prather.
