Minnie Young

Minnie Youngwas born in Hardeman County, Tennessee on November 12, 1915 the daughter of the late John Henry and Mattie Harville Murphy.On December 22, 1936 she was united in marriage to Freeman Young, who preceded her in death on December 1, 1991.Mrs. Young had worked for Brown Shoe Manufacturing for 15 years in the fitting room. She was a member of the Campground Methodist Church, the Hardin County Senior Citizens, and Woodmen of the World. She loved to sew, quilt, and read.Mrs. Young departed this life on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the age of 93 years, 6 months, 30 days.Mrs. Young is survived by a daughter, Linda Darnell of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 sons, Lonny W. Young and W. Steve Young both of Savannah, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Versia Ables and Lillie Yopp; 2 brothers, Gilbert and Archie Murphy; a grandchild, Janet Young.
