Monroe Ellis Cherry

Monroe Ellis Cherry, Sr.was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on April 23, 1933 the son of Dorothy Hopson Cherry and the late Monroe Ellis Cherry.Mr. Cherry was united in marriage to Dorothy L. Cherry, who preceded him in death.Mr. Cherry was a Produce Manager at Save-A-Lot and a member of the Newton Church of Christ.Mr. Cherry departed this life on October 10, 2010 at the age of 77 years, 5 months, 17 days.In addition to his mother, Mr. Cherry is survived by 4 daughters, Jacqueline Cherry of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Teresa (Ken) Reid , Barbara Cherry, and Linda Cherry all of Atlanta, Georgia; a son, Monroe E. (Lois) Cherry, Jr. of Savannah, TN; 11 grandchildren, Earnest, Allison, and Sean Thompson, Reshaud Witherspoon, Alexandra Cherry, Whitney Benton, Wayne Weatherspoon, Cortesha Cherry, Drequan Wortham, Richard Lall, and Jalyn Cherry; 3 great grandchildren, Jadarius McCutcheon, Jamarcus Benton, and Shamorian Evans; 2 sisters, Fannie Cherry of Savannah, Tennessee and Mary (Jerry) Steele of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Cherry; brother, Forrest Eugene (Sonny) Cherry; granddaughter, Latoyia Weatherspoon; great granddaughter, Angel Evans; great grandmother, Mary Tatum.
