MONTY H. PATTERSON
Jackson, TN: Monty Hayes Patterson, age 77, died Saturday morning November 5, 2011 at Jackson General Hospital.
Mr. Patterson was born and reared in McNairy County at Adamsville, the son of the late Montie Morris and Maggie Magnolia Younger Patterson. He attended schools at Adamsville and married Jo Ann Wright of Enville in 1953. He served in the U. S. Army after the Korean War doing basic training at Fort Chaffee, AR and then serving on Long Island. After his service they lived in Jackson and Memphis while he worked for General Electric Corporation, retiring in 1996. They then made their home in Sevierville, TN before returning to Jackson. Mr. Patterson was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Jo Ann Wright Patterson of Jackson and three sisters; Ludine Tucker of Jackson, Ellen Patterson of Humboldt, and Rubye Southall of Jackson. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Patterson and a sister Betty Ruth Patterson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Chris Kitchen officiating and burial will follow at Memory Gardens of Hardin County in Savannah.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel beginning at 9:00 AM Monday.
