Mozelle Holmes Crouse
Henderson: Elizabeth Mozelle Holmes Crouse, age 88, died Friday, January 1, 2016 at Jackson General Hospital.
Mrs. Crouse was born in Henderson County and grew up at Finger, the daughter of the late James Euther and Eula Victoria Tidwell Holmes. She graduated from Bethel Springs High School in 1945 and Married Tommy McKinley Crouse in 1946. They made their home in Henderson until 1958 when they moved to Illinois. They returned to the Old Friendship Community in 1960. Mrs. Crouse had worked at Salant and Salant and Chester County Sportswear. They were involved at Old Friendship Baptist Church and Cave Springs Baptist Church where they had both taught Sunday school. Mr. Crouse died in 1997.
Mrs. Course moved to Heritage Towers in 2007 and had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson. She loved flowers, gardening, sewing, and helping others.
She is survived by three sons; Nickey Crouse and wife Mitzi of Henderson, Anthony Crouse and wife Teresa of Jackson and Stanley Crouse of Henderson, and a daughter Becky Peterson and Husband Gary of Medina. She was preceded in death by a daughter Cindy Lewis in 2012. She has ten grandchildren; Cale Crouse, Justin Crouse, Melonie McDaniel, Denise Flanagan, Andres Price, Chelsea Sadler, Spencer Crouse, Erin Crouse, Tara Morris, and Dana Scott, 12 great grandchildren; Alexis and Bray Crouse, Caden Crouse, Daela Smith, Megan McDaniel, Maggie and Lydia Flanagan, Aubrie Price, Blaine Price, Grayson Sadler, Daulton Duke, and McKinley Morris, and two great-great grandchildren; Luke and Cooper Smith.
She is also survived by two brothers; James Holmes of South Bend, IN and Jack Holmes of Jackson, and four sisters; Inez Ethridge of Linden, Wanna Crouse of Finger, Darlene Reeves of Wichita, KS and Janice Crouse of Medon. She was preceded in death by siblings; Harold Holmes, Donald Earl Holmes, Bonnie Hudson, Tony Holmes, and Mack Holmes.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday at Cave Springs Baptist Church with Ronnie Geary and Brad Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Henderson from 5:00 PM until 9:00 Sunday and Monday from 8:00 AM until 12 noon at First Baptist Church Henderson.
