It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Muriel Penelope Hand Crosswhite, age 77, who left us on November 7, 2025, at her home in Waynesboro, TN. She was born on May 19, 1948 in Pontiac, MI, to the late Clyde Hand and Edna Vaught Dunbar.
Throughout her career, she touched many lives while working as office personnel at TDK in Massachusetts until her well-deserved retirement. Muriel was deeply passionate about her dogs, who brought her endless joy and companionship. More than anything, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, nurturing those she loved with kindness and warmth.
Muriel's spirit will forever be a guiding light to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will always be remembered and cherished.
She is survived by her significant other of 38 years, James "Jim" Lowell of Waynesboro, TN; sons, Patrick Crosswhite (Sally) of Waterford, MI, Joseph Crosswhite of Shirley, MA, and Johnathan Crosswhite of MA; brother, Alan Hand (Linda) of AR; sister, Karen Hand of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Gage Crosswhite, Quentin Crosswhite, Ashley Crosswhite, Josh Crosswhite, Danielle Doebel, and David Doebel; and great grandchildren, Jayden Dupuis , Miles Romo, and Tatum Romo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Hand; mother, Edna Vaught Dunbar; stepfather, Dave Dunbar; brother, Greg Hand; and sister, Gail Thrasher.
Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood, TN.
