Mr. Murley Joe McKee, age 83, of Bolivar, died Sunday morning at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was the son of the late Eulas Rayford and Iva Mae Majors McKee. A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, Mr. McKee worked as a sawmill foreman and had attended the Porter's Creek Baptist Church. During the Korean War, he served his country in the US Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy McKee of Bolivar, two daughters, Rinda Joyner of Gibson, TN and Gwen Murphy and her husband, Larry, of Middleton; a son, Kim McKee and his wife, Debbie, of Middleton; 5 sisters, Nettie Sue McCullar of Selmer, Willie Mae Dollar of Peoria, IL, Kathleen Vales of Bolivar, Linda Stanfield of Jackson and Carolyn McCullar of Bethel Springs; two brothers, Marcus McKee of Middleton and Rayford McKee of Henderson; two grandchildren, Tonya Marie Robertson and her husband, Josh, and Christopher Murphy and his wife, Krissy; 11 great-grandchildren, Emily Hunt, Riley Robertson, Bryan, David and Madison Murphy, Melanie, Nicholas and Hunter Young, Jamie & Leigh Burnett and Molleigh Burnett.
He was preceded in death by a son, David "McGoo" McKee; a sister, Martha Pearl Jordan; and a brother, Tommy McKee; and his parents.
