Myra Carroll Byrd
was born in Iuka, Mississippi on August 21, 1939 the daughter of the late Harris and Grace Anditon Carroll.
On July 8, 1957 she was united in marriage to James Edward Byrd, who preceded her in death on July 8, 2003.
Mrs. Byrd was a homemaker. She enjoyed church, community services, particularly helping with elections and supporting the Christmas Toy Store. She was a member of the Pickwick United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and the Merry Widows.
Mrs. Byrd departed this life on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the age of 71 years, 6 months, 24 days.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Patty Childers of Counce, Tennessee, Beverly Rogers of Nashville, Tennessee and Karen Packard of Marietta, Georgia; a son, Robert Byrd of Knoxville, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren, Charlie Childers, Lori Childers, Kate Rogers, Claire Rogers, Sam Packard, Maggie Packard, Sydney Packard, Noah Byrd, and Nathan Byrd; a great grandchild, Jaden Cotner; 4 sisters, Stella Ray of Spring City, Tennessee, Ann Williams of Booneville, Mississippi, Linda Ard of Tupelo, Mississippi and Josie Morris of Counce, Tennessee; 3 brothers, Neill Carroll of Fort Townson, Oklahoma, Wayne Carroll and Melvin Carroll both of Counce, Tennessee.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Edward Byrd; 3 sisters, Jeanette Patterson, Judy Gober and Alma Crowley.
