Myrna Modean Luna

Modean Crews Luna Myrna Modean Crews Luna, age 78, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, May 27, 2016, at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

She was born March 13, 1938, to Larkin Marcus and Ethiel Lucille Flippo Crews. She was married to the late Thomas Carl Luna on July 21, 1951. They had four children.

She was a hard-working, loving mother. One of her greatest enjoyments was working as a foster grandparent at WES. She loved to read, cook, and spend time with her family and friends. One of her proudest accomplishments was earning her high school diploma at the age of 62. By far her greatest joy was worshipping God at Green River Tabernacle where she was a member.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Modean was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Alice, and a brother, Alvin Crews.

She is survived by her children: Gail (Jerry) Hensley of Hohenwald, TN, Terry (Trish) Luna of Loretto, TN, Rhonda Long of Waynesboro, TN, and Steve (Sheryl) Luna of Cypress Inn, TN; grandchildren: Rodney (Kathy) Hensley, Kristin Hensley, Heather (Wes) Gambel, Nikki Long, Bubba Long, Stetson Luna, and Madison Luna; great-grandchildren: Kaitlin, Emma, and Kynedie Hensley, Brianna and Carson Haynes, and Shania, Clay, and Abby Gambel; a sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Raymond Staggs of Clifton, TN, a sister-in–law Shirley Crews of Waynesboro, TN, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, TN with Bro. Larry Janes officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Monday, May 30, 2016 from 4 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Stetson Luna, Clay Gambel, Rodney Hensley, Mark Staggs, James Staggs, and Gary Russ. Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Major.
