Myrtis Earline Clopton

Mrs. Clopton died Friday, February 15, 2013, at Jackson-Madison County

General Hospital.



A native of Mangham, Louisiana, she was daughter of Joseph Grady Burgess and Eulola Crout Burgess and had lived in Hardeman County since the early 1970's. She married Mr. Gene Clopton on December 28, 1978. Mr. Clopton passed away on February 11, 1995. Mrs. Clopton had worked in the cafeteria of Bolivar Elementary School, as secretary for Harry Bishop Land Sales, as a clerk for Taylor's Outlet in Bolivar and in later years, she sat with the elderly. She had attended Trinity Baptist Church and Dixie Hills Baptist Church.



She leaves two daughters, Vicky Wilborn of Texas and Betty Alexandra of Colorado; 4 grandchildren, Katie Wilborn, Joseph Coupe and his wife, Sarah, Cecelia Fletcher and James; 3 great-grandchildren, Micah Fletcher, Joseph Coupe and Madeline Coupe.



In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daugher, Patricia Cannon and a son, Walter Wilborn.
