N.C. (Buddy) Paulk departed this life on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the age of 88 years and 26 days.
He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 12, 1925, the son of the late Charlie Elvin and Mary Pearl Hubbard Paulk. On April 28, 1946, he was united in marriage to Verna Mae Daniels, who survives.
Mr. Paulk was inducted into the US Army November 6, 1943 in Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia. It was on January 5, 1945, he was wounded in battle while while on his European Theatre, for which he was honored with a Purple Heart. He was Honorably Discharged March 12, 1946.
He retired from Block Drug Company in Memphis, Tennessee. Buddy always enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to play dominoes and bowl.
In addition to his wife of 67 years, Verna Paulk of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Wilkerson and husband Wayne of Savannah, Tennessee, Diane Henry of Savannah, Tennessee, Wanda Berchem and husband Tom of Powder Springs, Georgia; grandchildren, Jenny Cooper of Southampton, New Jersey, Melissa Brewer of Selmer, Tennessee, Michell Cummings of Savannah, Tennessee, Tina Hudson of Gilmer, Texas, Amanda Smith of Lexington, South Carolina and Megan Mitchell of Gaston, South Carolina; great grandchildren, Shelby Froitzheim of Gilmer, Texas, Laura Hudson of Gilmer, Texas, Ryan Smith Lexington, South Carolina, Matthew Smith of Lexington, South Carolina, Zander Mitchell of Gaston, South Carolina, Marlie Mitchell of Gaston, South Carolina, Duston Mitchell of Gaston, South Carolina, Addie Weaver of Southampton, New Jersey, Charlie Weaver of Southampton, New Jersey, Morgan Brewer of Selmer, Tennessee; brothers, Leonard Paulk of Savannah, Tennessee and Lloyd Paulk of Fredericktown, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Pearl Paulk; brothers, Elvin Paulk, Marvin Paulk, and Raymond Paulk.
