N. J. Keeton

N. J. Keeton was born April 22, 1935 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the son of the late Lannie David and Mary Lula Morgan Keeton. He was united in marriage to Barbara Duren on March 19, 1954.



Mr. Keeton was a farmer and truck driver. He had worked at Murray Ohio manufacturing company, Mr. Keeton loved his work as a truck driver and had been a driver for Wayne Farmers Coop, Dixie Land Foods, and Harold Robertson Trucking. He was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Collinwood, Tennessee.



Mr. Keeton departed this life on July 1, 2009 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 74 Years, 2 Months, 9 Days.



He is survived by his wife Barbara Duren Keeton of Waynesboro, TN; son, Norris Jay Keeton of Spring Hill, TN; daughter, Myra Jan Keeton Goss of Waynesboro, TN; 4 Grandchildren, Nathan Jay Keeton, Jennifer Keeton, Theresa Keeton, and Adam Duain Goss; two brothers, Marshall Keeton and Lannie Keeton Jr. both of Waynesboro, TN; two sisters, Marcella Keeton Hickerson of Waynesboro, TN and Dora Keeton Lynn of Chattanooga, TN;several nieces and nephews.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Keeton was preceded in death by Grandparents, Newton Josiah and Dora Copeland Keeton and John and Gertrude Morgan.



Services will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with John Hodum officiating. Burial will follow in the Keeton Cemetery at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Friday, July 3, 2009 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, July 4, 2009 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
