Nancy
Lees
April 30, 1953 – May 5, 2026
Loving words from Ronnie Thomas, son of Nancy.
It is with deep sadness and a heart full of love that I share the passing of my beloved mother, Nancy Charlene Lees (Pickett), also known and loved by many as Nancy Thomas. She left this world peacefully on the morning of May 5, 2026, at 73 years young. She leaves a hole in my heart that simply cannot be filled.
My mom was the kind of woman who never met a stranger, never missed a chance to feed you, and never once stopped showing up for the people she loved. She was a devoted mother, a fiercely loyal friend, a gardener who could make anything bloom, and a woman whose holiday dressing and lemon icebox pies were nothing short of legendary. When I was in high school, she was the mom who loaded a car full of my friends and took us to concerts. And when I left for college, she went back herself, waiting tables to earn her nursing degree in her 40s, because my mom never stopped growing and never stopped giving.
She loved her Tennessee Vols, her roses, her pups, her Elvis, and her Red Lobster. And she loved her family with everything she had, every single day.
I am heartbroken, and I am so grateful she was mine.
