Nancy Stanfield Pepper passed away peacefully at her home on June 10, 2024, at the age of 83 years and 18 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on May 23, 1941, and was the only child of Elberta "Bertie" Banks.
Nancy was a devoted housewife who loved working in her flower gardens. She especially loved watching her lilies and zinnias bloom. Her absolute favorite pastime was going dancing. She and her dear friend, Laverne, went every weekend as long as their health allowed. She also loved to play games, such as cards, dominos and Yahtzee. She had a competitive spirit and won most of the time.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Georgie Ann Vaughn, and her husband Nathan, her son William Allen Stanfield and his wife Brandy, all of Savannah, TN. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Lauren Vaughn Nolen and her husband Brian of Decaturville, TN, Caleb and Allie Stanfield of Decatur, AL, and Ariana and Makayla Stanfield of Savannah, TN. Additionally, she leaves behind two great-grandsons, Jaxton and Jagger Nolen of Decaturville, TN, as well as several close friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jimmy Stanfield, her first husband, Grady Stanfield, her second husband Major Pepper, and one granddaughter, Sarah Stanfield.
