Nancy Robin Smith Plunk, a woman of grace and distinction, was born on July 23, 1940 in the Gilchrist Community in Adamsville, TN to the late Lee Roy Smith and Wilma Martin Smith. It is with heavy hearts that we announce her passing on November 6, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 83 years, 3 months, and 14 days.
In 1958, Nancy embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship when she joined hands in marriage with Jimmy "Coon" Plunk. Sadly, Jimmy preceded her in death on January 10, 2011. Together they shared cherished moments and built a strong foundation for their family.
Nancy's faith was an integral part of her life. She was a member of Mt. Sharon Presbyterian Church and proudly served as an elder until her retirement.
Following in the footsteps of compassion and care, Nancy dedicated herself to a career in nursing. Her tireless efforts touched the lives of countless individuals during her many years of service. As a Registered Nurse (R.N.), she displayed unwavering dedication to healing and comforting those entrusted to her care.
While Nancy's professional achievements were noteworthy, her family held an unparalleled place in her heart. Spending time with loved ones brought her immeasurable joy.
She is survived by a son, Jimmy Lee Plunk; like a daughter, Lesa Plunk; two grandchildren, Dustin Lee Plunk (Molly), Dillon Plunk (Hannah); a great grandchild, Deacon Lee Plunk; two nephews, Lynn Floyd, Micheal Floyd.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Jane Gates of Houston, TX; a brother, Don Smith of Houston, TX.
