Nancy Jane Blount Roberts

Nancy Jane Blount Roberts of Clifton, TN, was born June 21, 1933 in Huntsville, AL, the daughter of the late James Marvin Blount and Mary Martha Manning Blount Helton. She was united in marriage to James Riley (Jimmy) Roberts, Jr. on December 15, 1962.

Mrs. Roberts was a retired seamstress at Hickory Hills Manufacturing and was a member of the Clifton Church of God in Clifton, Tennessee.

Mrs. Roberts departed this life on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Huntingdon Health and Rehab in Huntingdon, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 11 Months, 6 Days.

She is survived by her husband, James Riley (Jimmy) Roberts Jr. of Clifton, TN; daughters, Joy Dianne Neely of Hollow Rock, TN, Susan Nanette Arnold of Lobelville, TN; grandchildren, Roger Brandon Treadwell and wife, Amy, Brandi Lynette Lee and husband, Ben and Johnny Neely and wife, Mary Jane; great-grandchildren, Hunter Paul Treadwell, Lacey Faye Marie Mathis, Elizabeth Mathis, Willie Joe Jones, II, Rachael Lujuana Neely and Rylee Grace Holladay; a brother, James Blount and wife, Bernice of Huntsville, AL; a sister, Georgia Staggs of Loretto, TN and a special family friend, Wayne Neely.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her step-father, Tolbert Helton; a grandchild, Blake Thomas Arnold; a son-in-law, Roger Neeley; a brother-in-law, Gene Staggs and nephews, Timothy Staggs and Marvin Blount.

Services will be Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Cifton Church of God in Clifton, Tennessee, with Roger Reece officiating. Burial will follow in the Clifton Cemetery, Clifton, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Johnny Neely, Ben Lee, Alan Williams, T.J. Staggs, Matthew Staggs and Tony Staggs. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Battles and Bo Mathis.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 4 pm to 9 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro, TN and Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 9 am until service time at Clifton Church of God, Clifton, TN.

Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be given to Clifton Church of God, Blake Thomas Arnold Memorial Scholarship Fund, or Downs Syndrome Buddy Walk.
