Nancy Zavala

NANCY DICKERSON ZAVALA



was born in Corinth, Mississippi on July 6, 1937 the daughter of the late Elmer Leon Morris and Sally Pauline Broadway Morris-Cass.



On July 25, 1953 she was united in marriage to Jessie H. Dickerson, who preceded his wife in death on February 21, 1984. On May 6, 1985 she was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Zavala, who preceded her in death on September 28, 2009.



Mrs. Zavala was a homemaker. She had worked for Hughes Worm Ranch and Brown Shoe Company and she did baby-sitting at home. Mrs. Zavala was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and she was a member of Savannah Foursquare Church for over 50 years before becoming a member of New Life Pentecostal.



Mrs. Zavala departed this life on November 4, 2009 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 29 days.



She is survived by 2 sons, Gene Dickerson and Terry Dickerson, both of Savannah, Tennessee



one stepdaughter, Sherry Zavala of Silsbee, Texas and 2 stepsons, Robert Zavala of Victoria, Texas and Scott Zavala of Vidor, Texas.



10 grandchildren, Brandy Warrington, Lindy Baker, Cotey Dickerson, Brandon Zavala, Janine Zavala, Bobby Zavala, Jeremy Zavala, Christopher Croft, Chris Sullivan and Byron Hudson



8 great-grandchildren, Kennedy Baker, Lyddie-Beth Baker, Amalie Alvarado, Christian Sullivan, Briley-Lane Hudson, Erix Croft, Kaya Croft and Aurora Croft.



one sister, Peggy Jerrolds of Savannah, Tennessee and 3 brothers, Don Morris and Bill Morris, both of Crump, Tennessee and Leon Morris of Savannah, Tennessee



Mrs. Zavala was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Lonzo Fay "Johnny" Morris, William Morris and Vernon Morris and 2 infant siblings.
