Naomi Ferguson Mayfield, born on July 6, 1958, in Selmer, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Quinton and Jean Maness Ferguson. She married Ronnie Mayfield on September 5, 1975, embarking on a journey filled with joy and togetherness.
Throughout her career, Naomi dedicated herself to her role as a bill of materials specialist at Monogram in Selmer. However, it was in the kitchen, where her talents truly shined. Taking after her beloved mother and grandmothers, she became an extraordinary cook, mastering the family’s treasured banana pudding recipe and creating many other favorites.
Family was at the core of her being, and she embraced her extended family of nieces, nephews, and their children as if they were her own. Her heart brimmed with pride as she rarely missed the chance to cheer on her great nieces and nephews at their ballgames.
On September 30, 2024, Naomi departed this life at her home in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, at the age of 66 years, 2 months, 24 days. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Mayfield; brother, Dennis Ferguson (Margie); sister, Susie Plunk (Ricky); beloved nieces and nephews—Tammy Whirley, Amanda Fugate (Billy), Brittany Crouse-Kelso, Shane Ferguson, Jason Ferguson, and Daniel Plunk; along with a special host of great nieces and nephews who adored her.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Ferguson, and her nephews, Ryan Ferguson and Brandon Crouse.
Naomi Ferguson Mayfield will always be remembered for her boundless love for her family and friends.
