Nathanael Overton

Nathanael Overton of Waynesboro, TN was born October 30, 1931 in Greenville, Tennessee, the son of the late Tom and Daisy Ona Templeton Overton. He was united in marriage to Charlene Bell Pulley on February 22, 1951and she preceded him in death on February 27, 1990.



Mr. Overton was a Tow Boat Captain .



Mr. Overton departed this life on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Wayne Care Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 23 Days.



He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Sharon Ainsley of Savannah, TN; a son, Thomas Walter Overton of Waynesboro, TN; six grandchildren, Johnathan Graham, Smokie Ainsley, Cassandra Kelly, Erica Overton, Agenda Davis, Stefan Overton; three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Dominique, and Harley Kelly; two brothers, Teddy and Bobby Overton both of Waynesboro, TN;

nieces and nephews.



In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Overton was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Overton; three brothers, Walter, Jack, Eddie Overton; three sisters, Louise Stricklin, Bonnie Skelton, Guyula Warren.



Services will be Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 1:00 PM at First Pentecostal Church, Clifton, Tennessee, with Billy Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Worley Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Bart Bryant, Daniel Davis, Jessie Boyd, Smokey Ainsley, Johnathan Graham, Mackie Bullard. Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Lane, Timmy Boyd.



Visitation will begin at 4:30 pm, Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at First Pentecostal Church in Clifton, TN.
