NELDA HENSON MULLINS
Henderson, TN: Nelda Maxine Henson Mullins age 79 passed away, Thursday evening June 1, 2017 at her home.
She was born February 7, 1938 in the Woodville Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Joseph Aubrey and Lucy Delight Rowland Henson. She graduated Chester County High School in 1957. She married Bobby Mullins, May 24 1957. They made their home in Memphis while there she attended beauty school and was a self-employed hairdresser.
They moved to McNairy County in 1971 and then moved to Bethel. They were co-owners of Mullins-Henson Ford Tractor dealership in Henderson with Jimmy and Sharon Henson. She also operated her own beauty shop in Henderson.
She enjoyed her breakfast ladies at Jack’s Restaurant in Henderson, which were all cancer survivors.
She was a certified master gardener and she enjoyed fishing, baking, crafting and painting.
She attended Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Mullins is survived by her husband, Bobby Charles Mullins of Henderson; a daughter, Pam Sage and husband David of Oxford, MS; four grandchildren, Glenn Mullins (Brooke), Josh Sage (Debra), Joey Mullins and Alex Sage; three great grandchildren, Karlee Jo Mullins, Harper Daye Mullins and Avery Grace Sage; a sister, Beverly Maness of Eads, TN and a brother, Hayes Henson of Auburndale, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Tim Mullins in 2000 and a brother, Jimmy Henson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Charles Whitten and Laura Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Woodville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday.
