Nell Campbell
Enville, TN: Vernell Vinson Campbell, age 87, died at her home Friday morning January 16, 2015 at Enville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Campbell was born and reared at Walnut, MS, the daughter of the late Newton Allsie and Lula Elizabeth Luker Vinson. She went to school at Kossuth, MS and married Robert Fred Campbell in 1947. They made their home first at Shiloh and then the remainder of their married life at Enville. Mr. Campbell died in 1976. Mrs. Campbell worked for 33 years at H.I.S. garment at Saltillo, retiring as sewing supervisor in 1992.
She had served as an alderwoman on the Enville City Council and was elected Mayor of Enville in 1990 and served three full terms until 2002. She was a member of the Enville Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters; Ann Senseman and husband Fred of Jackson and Rose Busby and husband Tex of Henderson and a son Bob Campbell of Jackson. She has six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Harlon Vinson and three sisters Lillie Hardin, Hattie Garrett, and Lorene White.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Jerry Woods and Joe Hays officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery at Enville.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday.
