Nellie Frances Warren Morris, a beloved soul, departed this life on August 28, 2025, at the remarkable age of 92. She was born on October 8, 1932, in Wayne County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Wesley and Marry Isabell Davis Warren.
Nellie's journey through life was beautifully intertwined with love, beginning with her marriage to Elmer J Morris on September 13, 1947. Together, they built a life filled with shared memories until his passing on April 24, 2019, leaving her with a lifetime of love and cherished moments.
A dedicated worker, Nellie spent many years contributing her talents to various manufacturing companies, including Siegel Company in Hohenwald, TN, Clifton Manufacturing in Clifton, TN, Angelica Manufacturing Company, and TN Apparel in Waynesboro, TN. Her strong work ethic and commitment to her craft reflected her vibrant spirit and determination.
Nellie was not only known for her industrious nature but also her warm heart. As a member of the Beech Creek Full Gospel Church, she welcomed all with open arms. In her leisure time, she found joy in quilting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her loving nature. Her cooking, especially her renowned banana pudding, brought smiles to many faces, filling homes with warmth and sweetness. She loved working on puzzle books and indulging in her favorite game shows, reveling in the simple pleasures of life.
As we celebrate Nellie's life, we remember her as a beacon of kindness, resilience, and warmth. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her son, Earl Junior Morris (Rebecca) of Waynesboro, TN; daughter, Helen Sharp (Lonnie) of Hohenwald, TN; sisters, Alice Morris of Waynesboro, TN, and Ermadean Battles of Clifton, TN; grandchildren, Belinda “Sha” Nix (Thomas), Pam Melson (James), Raymond Morris, Angie Rosson, Darrel Reeves (Deena), Keith Reeves (Chanda), Scotty Morris, Kevin Morris, Sonya Clayton (Chuck), Kristy Crews (Michael), and Ann Hammack; 30 great grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parent, Joseph Wesley and Mary Isabell Davis Warren; husband, Elmer J Morris; son, James Floyd Morris; brother, Barney Warren, and James Glen Warren of Memphis; and sisters, Robbie Lewis, and Marie Pulley.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN with Mark Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Worley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Denver Morris, Joseph Morris, Brian Morris, Darrel Reeves, Keith Reeves, Justin Reeves, and Themen Rosson.
