Newsome Jones

February 15, 1927 — June 3, 2012

He was born in Chester County near Finger and grew up in the Jacks Creek – Reagan Community the son of the late William Ambrose and Ora Newsom Jones. He attended Chester County High Schools and entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and served until 1946 and returned to Jacks Creek. He attended Vocational School at Jackson. He married JoAnn Bailey in 1948. He farmed and worked in the Tool and Die Industry for 35 to 40 years. He worked 33 of those years at Anvil and retired from Anvil in 2004.

He was a member of the Community of Christ Church. He and his wife were very active in the church work at Jacks Creek. He was an Ordained Minister and Elder in the Community of Christ Church for over 60 years.



He is survived by his wife Wanda JoAnn Bailey Jones of Reagan; a son, Dwight Jones and wife Rue of Reagan; two daughters, Suzette Jones Deming and Cynthia Jones Droke and husband Tim all of Reagan; 4 grandchildren; a brother, Melbern Jones of Reagan; a sister, Olene Brown of Little Rock, AR.



He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lelton Jones and Leon Jones.
