Nila Marie McAlpin, 87 of Saulsbury died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Pine Meadows Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Arkansas, April 25, 1924 to John Woodford and Dora Burnette Toms she was a retired psychiatric aid from Western Mental Health Institute. She was a member of West Memorial Baptist Church and lived most of her life in Saulsbury.
Among her survivors are four daughters, Sharon Tice of Saulsbury, Marilyn King of Bolivar, Frances Price of Alberta, AL, & Willadean Bennett of Weston, WV; four sons John McAlpin of Brownsville, David McAlpin of Jonesboro, AR, Mike McAlpin of Saulsbury, and Tim McAlpin of Grand Junction; two brothers Pete Toms of Rogers Springs, and J. W. Toms of Lawton, OK; 19 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willard A. C. McAlpin who died February 24, 1989; and by two children Jerry Wayne McAlpin and Susanne McAlpin.
