Nelle Byrd

Nina Nelle Plunk Byrd passed from this life September 29, 2024 on Sunday morning just 3 weeks after her 90th birthday, born on September 8, 1934. She was born to the late Joseph Marion Plunk and Lola Wicker Plunk. Nelle was united in marriage to J D Byrd on August 10, 1957.

Nelle was one of a kind, sweet, patient, caring, giving, and always had her doors open for family, friends, or anyone that wanted to stop by. The highlight of her life was her children, Sherry and Jimmy, 2 grandsons Casey and Kevin, and of course her great granddaughter Alyssa Sky who was always ready to entertain her by singing and dancing, and also Bryson Moore.

She was survived by daughter Sharon Ann Byrd Garner (Guy), son Jimmy Wayne Byrd, grandsons Casey Garner, Kevin Garner, great granddaughter Alyssa Sky Garner, sisters in law Edith Plunk and Wilma Byrd Szydlowski, mother of Alyssa, Tiffini Moore, and brother of Alyssa, Bryson Moore.

Nelle was preceded in death by her husband JD Byrd, great granddaughter Kendall Star Garner, sister Agnes Scott, brothers Joseph Marion Plunk Jr., Leon Plunk, Vernon Plunk, and brothers in law Lowell Byrd and Frank Szydlowski.

She left a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
