Nola Faye Atkins peacefully passed from this life on June 24 2024, in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 9 Months, 3 Days. She was born on September 21, 1952, in McNairy County, TN to her loving parents Ed Atkins and Lena Lusk Atkins.
Nola's life was defined by her unwavering faith and dedication to serving others. She was a member of the Forrest Hill Church of Christ in Selmer Tennessee. Her compassionate nature led her to volunteer at Jesus Cares and within her church, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness.
Nola found joy in staying active at the Selmer Civic Center and embarking on memorable vacations. However, her greatest source of happiness came from being surrounded by her family, particularly her adored grandchildren. Nola's love for her family knew no bounds, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Nola will be remembered for her passion for spreading the Gospel Word. Her devotion to sharing the message of faith left an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by three daughters: Sonja Carter (Alan) of Murfreesboro, TN, Shawana Wade (Alton) of Milan, TN, LaToya Burton (Damion) of Jackson, TN; eight grandchildren: Roman "Demaret" Sanders of Jackson, TN, Evan Carter and Avery Carter of Murfreesboro, TN, Jerry Porter and Morgan Wade of Milan, TN, TaKhiah Minter, Harmonie Burton and Lola Patmon of Jackson, TN; four great grandchildren: MoeLena Sanders, Graceson Sanders, Malaiya Sanders, Tru Sanders; three sisters: Jennettea McCoy of Selmer, TN, Mary Tole (Mack) of Jackson, TN, Elise Walker (Elbert) of Selmer, TN; four brothers: Fred Atkins (Pat) of Chicago, IL, William Atkins (Barbara) of Selmer, TN, Marvin Atkins of Selmer, TN, Eddie Ray Atkins of Selmer, TN; auntie, Mary Alice Dennis of Memphis, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by three brothers: Otis Atkins, Willie Atkins and Earl Johnston; husband, Howard Kirk.
Let us also celebrate the legacy of love and compassion she leaves behind. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who were touched by her grace.
