Norma Jean Ash Carpenter was born on September 14, 1940 in Osceola, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Walter Elbert and Dorothy Jewell Turner Tidwell.
Norma owned and operated a successful upholstering business for over 30 years in the Memphis, Tennessee area. She enjoyed spending time outdoors going boating and fishing. Norma loved her girls and her fur baby, Stella.
Norma Jean Ash Carpenter departed this life on September 22, 2024 in Coldwater, Mississippi, at the age of 84 years and 8 days.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Robinson of Coldwater, Mississippi and Beverly Turnbow of Counce, Tennessee; brother, Malcom Tidwell of Amory, Mississippi; grandchildren, Jimmie Turnbow and his wife Brenda and Aaron Owens and his wife Dallas; and great grandchildren, Rylee Turnbow and Emberlynn Tigner.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her 1st husband, James Guy Ash, Jr.; 2nd husband, Joseph David Carpenter; daughter, Silvia Gaye Ash; sister, Ruth Langston; and brother, Bobby Tidwell.
