Norma Elder

Ms. Elder passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 15, 2011 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.



She was born February 1, 1922 in Middleton to the late George Clark and Mary Doyle Clark, grew up near Pinson and lived most of her life in Medon. She worked several years at Pine Meadows in Bolivar and at Bemis Cotton Mill. She enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, crafts, cooking and feeding people. She was a member of Mason Wells Church in the Five Points Community and attended Faith Tabernacle in Medon.



She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Wanda Devers and Barry of Clarksville; three sons and their wives, Jimmy Elder and Brenda of Bolivar, Michael Elder and Lillian, Allen Elder and Judy, all of Medon; a grandson, Christopher Elder; two sisters, Gladys Taylor of Deanburg and Evelyn Leathers of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Syble Fortune, Betty Cupples and Mary Ruth Taylor.
