NORMA JEAN SMITH
Finger, TN: Norma Jean Wade Smith age 82 passed away March 14, 2019 at Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born February 14, 1937 in the Montezuma Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Elmer Scott and Gladys Joella Wyatt Wade. She went to school at Phillips School House and married Harold Wayne Smith in 1953. They made their home at Montezuma and Finger since 1959 where Mr. Smith farmed. Mrs. Smith worked at Salant & Salant for twenty-six years and retired from Kolpack/DRI in Selmer in 1999. Mr. Smith died in 2016. She loved gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.She was a member of the Finger First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by three sons, Steve Smith (Connie) of Finger, Jeff Smith (Sheila) of Henderson and Mark Smith of Bethel Springs; a daughter, Kellie Barnes (Michael) of Finger; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Wayne Smith
in 2016 and two sisters, Reda Lott and Dorothy Sue Hearn.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Saturday and 11:00 AM until service time on Sunday.
