Norma "Ann" Vanhoose was born on March 8, 1952 to the late Edgar and Grace Blankenship. Ann was the youngest of six children.
On December 2, 1967, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Neal Vanhoose, who survives. Together they worked hand in hand for 58 years on their farm in Saltillo, Tennessee where they built a loving family, including two children and five grandchildren. She was the backbone of the family.
Ann worked many jobs during her life. In her early days, she was a seamstress in a factory. She also served people several years as a waitress and worked as a custodian at Hardin Medical Center Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. She never let the pain in her body keep her down.
Ann was a devoted member of Saltillo Baptist Church where she served the Lord faithfully in any way she could. She loved her church family and they loved her. Ann began every morning reading her Bible and praying for her family and friends.
Ann enjoyed many things in life but having her family down and cooking was her most cherished. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening, and canning.
Ann held many titles but her greatest was "Mamaw". Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she never missed any event they were involved in.
Ann went peacefully to be with the Lord on May 2, 2026 at her home. She leaves behind her husband, Jimmy Vanhoose; a son, Rodney (Monica) Vanhoose of Counce, Tennessee; and a daughter, Kristy (Lance) Phillips of Savannah, Tennessee. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Grace Vanhoose, Andrew Vanhoose, Emma Morgan, Bailey (Bryce) Duncan, and Hunter Phillips. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Grace Blankenship; three brothers, JR "Bud" Blankenship, Mike Blankenship, and Ray Blankenship; two sisters, Betty Jean McCoy and Linda Sue Oakley; and four nieces.
