Norman Wesley Harris was born on December 13, 1923 in Bloomfield, Missouri, the son of the late William and Mayme Douglas Harris.
On August 18, 1944 he was united in marriage to Pauline Sluka, who preceded her husband in death on September 5, 2001.
Mr. Harris honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, He later worked as a plumbing inspector for the City of Detroit, Michigan. Norman was an avid musician and had the talent to play many instruments, including the guitar, mandolin, mandola, banjo, organ, and keyboard. He loved wood carving and made many walking sticks during his lifetime. Norman also enjoyed art and painting landscapes.
Norman Wesley Harris departed this life on August 31, 2024 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 100 years, 8 months, and 18 days.
He is survived by his daughter, Carlene Harvath Rogers of Marana, Arizona; sister, Dolores Hester of Carlsbad, New Mexico; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; nieces, Sherrae Hester, Barbara Bateman, and Susan Bingham; and nephews, Danny Hester, Rick Hester, Mitchell Harris, Greg Harris, Ken Harris, and Michael Harris.
In addition to his wife and parents, Norman was preceded in death by his sister, Nelda Harris and brothers, Samuel Weldon and Stanley Eldon.
