Norman "Crunch" Riley departed this life on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 3 days. He was born in the Beech Creek Community of Wayne County, Tennessee, on June 27, 1942, the son of the late Arnold Forrest and Dora Estelle Davis Riley. On January 15, 1966, he was united in marriage to Joyce Robbins, who survives.
Norman graduated in 1960 from Frank Hughes High School in Clifton, Tennessee and enlisted with the Army that same year, serving until 1962 and then transferred to the National Guard, serving through 1985 when he was honorably discharged. Norman retired from the Tennessee Department of Corrections Turner Correctional Center where he was a guard and the Wayne County Boot Camp. Norman loved reminiscing about "old" people, being outside, feeding the cows, and mowing the yard. He enjoyed going to Wal-Mart and buying for his kids.
Norman is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Robbins Riley of Clifton, Tennessee; sons, Shayne Riley and his wife Brandi of Savannah,Tennessee, and Jason Riley and his fiance Crystal of Clifton, Tennessee; grandchildren, Will and his fiance Sadie, Lydia, Lylah, Hannah Beth, and Brodee Riley, Ashlyn, Acen, and Averi Brown; sisters, Joyce Troupe of Panama City Beach, Florida and Jo Ellen Lambright of Dixon, Tennessee; and brother, Jack Riley of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his infant brother, Jerry Riley; infant sister, Shirley Riley; nephew, Brad Troupe; and brothers-in-law, Normand Lambright and Ray Troupe.
