Oddo Cook

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home, in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Ernest Rich officiating . Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements.



Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 11, 6:00--9:00 pm/Wednesday, August 12, 9:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood,TN



Mr. Cook departed this life on Monday, August 10, 2009 at Eliza Coffee Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 84 Years, 10 Months, 23 Days.

He was born September 18, 1924 in Wayne County, Tennessee the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Mary Emma Sumner Cook. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cook was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Kaye Trull; granddaughter, Janet Brooke Robertson; sisters, Lona Ricketts and Rosa Tye, brothers, Muriel E. Cook and James Cook; half brothers; Otto Burleson, Leland Cook; and half sister; Ida Pierce.



Mr. Cook was a retired factory worker from Murray Ohio Manufacturing . He was a member of the Collinwood Freewill Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

He was united in marriage to Novella Simmons on September 10, 1955.



He is survived by his wife Novella (Simmons) Cook of Collinwood, TN; three daughters, Rebecca Diane Overstreet of Nashville, TN, Doris Faye Robertson and Susan Ann Calton both of Collinwood, TN



grandchildren, Selena Robertson, Tina Overstreet, Emily Robertson and Benjamin Trull,

step grandchildren;Jay Calton, John Calton and Jerrad Calton;
